Sowing millet

The height that a millet spike reaches depends on the variety,

but can reach more than 3 meters in length.

The weight of the seed causes the ear to bend.

The millet is cut by hand, ear by ear.

Once cut, it is left to dry in the field and,

when the ears are completely dry,

They are moved to the ship to be shelled.

The ears are selected and classified according to their size, thickness and condition.

We begin to twist the first spikes onto the broom handle.

The entire manufacturing process is carried out by hand with minor help from machinery.

We screw the spikes onto the pole. Once the strings are in place, the threads are joined together using machines and then hand-stitched.

Finally, we brush the brooms and cut the dowels to fit the required size; we package and store them ready to ship them home.
